In this example of laser welding we have a 70's Rolex military case with broken lug bars. These early military watches employed solid lug bars. Unfortunately they have worn and fallen out. New stainless steel bars are now needed.

Another view this time you can see between the lugs showing somebody failure in soldering new bars in.

In this view from the side position you can just make out the elongated lug holes.

Once the lug bars are shortened we laser weld them in and build up the outside before graining back to its case. We were fortunate to find out the exact code of Stainless steel wire used on the manufacture of these cases. If the wire was a slightly different grade there could be a noticeable grey ring showing the inadequate colour match.
