The 6542 reference was the first of the GMT series and launched in 1954. The dual time zone indication was originally conceived for use by pilots; however it has since become one of the most identifiable Rolex sports models. With its original Bakelite “Pepsi” bezel and no crown guards, this watch left the factory within the first few years of the introduction of this iconic range.

25 jewel Cal. 1030 self-winding movement, black dial with hourly luminous markers bordered by outer gilt minute track, date aperture beneath magnification at three o’clock, red twenty-four hour hand, steel minute and Mercedes hour hands with luminous inserts, polished and brushed round case with bi-directional Bakelite “Pepsi” bezel and screw back, fitted with its original riveted steel Oyster link bracelet with folding Oyster clasp. Case, dial and movement signed.
