Rolex watches signed Varini-Locarno are unusual and rarely seen on the market. The name presumably derives from the Italian family name Varini, and the Swiss city of Locarno, indicating these watches were originally retailed by the Varini family jewellers of Locarno, Switzerland. 18 jewel Cal. 700 10 ½’” manual wind Extra Prima movement, cream dial with applied even Arabic numerals inter-spaced with hourly batons, all bordered by black minute track, subsidiary seconds at six o’clock, gold hands, polished rectangular case with flat lugs leading to canted sides, snap back, fitted contemporary strap in matt brown leather with signed Rolex steel buckle. Case, dial and movement signed.
